Primeurs 2024

One year follows another, but they are never alike. After a historically long (17 days) and generous harvest in 2023, it took just 9 days to harvest our 70 hectares (281 acres) in 2024: healthy grapes and a very small crop. Our Merlot grapes were picked from 30 September onwards. As in 2023, we waited until the very last moment to pick our great Cabernet Sauvignon grapes at full ripeness (after 5 October). Vintage 2024 was vinified using yeasts naturally present on the grape skins. Despite a turbulent, trying and uncertain growing season, it was a relief to taste the wines! The good balance of acidity, alcohol and tannins already promises a “likeable” wine that is easy to drink. Its aromatic complexity, fruit and generous flavours will charm you immediately.

The 2024 vintage, a turbulent year!

Throughout the year, we had to deal with record rainfall, a lack of sunshine, below-average temperatures and constant mildew pressure. We had to make strategic decisions in this war of nerves to reach optimum ripeness: preventive protection of our vineyards, leaf thinning of our great Cabernet Sauvignon, and a late start to the harvest, which was the shortest in the estate’s history. Fermentations with yeasts naturally present on the grape skins allow the purest, most direct expression of our terroirs: from this palette of immense richness comes a wine that I would describe as “ likeable ”, with excellent drinkability. Its aromatic complexity, fruit and generous flavours will charm you immediately.
